Omexom Institute, three days of learning and knowledge exchange

On the 8th, 9th and 10th of April, the Omexom Institute in Brazil, a training center of excellence in the construction of transmission lines and substations, organized the training sessions for its second promotion.

With the objective of creating ambassadors of VINCI Energies values, the training sessions gathered collaborators from Lot 3 (Energisa: Goiás – LT 230KV Rio Verde Norte – Jataí), Lot 26 (Energisa: Pará – LT 230KV Xinguara II – Santana do Araguaia) and Casa dos Ventos / EDF Renewables (Bahia – LT 230 KV Folha Larga wind farm). The entire content of the program, including the technical section, was centered around the ZERO ACCIDENTS goal, reinforcing the safety value throughout all work fronts. In addition to the development of technical skills, field collaborator safety and theoretical training, a practical course on rescue from heights in tower structure assemblies was carried out at the model Transmission Line, installed at the Contagem (MG) unit.

On occasion of the training sessions, collaborators were encouraged to become engaged with the mission of multiplying the knowledge acquired with their teams and colleagues. The program was closed by Breno Costa, head of the Omexom Transmission Major Projects Business Unit, who highlighted the importance of every collaborator’s role within the company’s commitment towards the ZERO ACCIDENTS goal: “More than a priority, safety represents a non-negotiable group value”.

Additionally, the gathering provided a rich exchange of experiences and integration between our specialists from different sites.
